How to smuggle Booze into a festival
We’ve all thought about it at sometime or another but for those of us who sneaked alcohol into a festival have done so with some very resourceful methods. Here is our favourite list of attempts from cunning smugglers. At FestivalPlanet we don’t encourage such behaviour but we find these stories amusing…
Hipflasks everywhere. Or strap a large container to your stomach and wear a baggy top on your way into the festival. Okay, so people might think you’re pregnant but they’ll be too worried to say anything for fear of offending you if it’s just that you’ve got a big stomach.
Fill up empty sprite/ coke bottles the 500ml variety then put inside an empty tube of pringles that you have kept the foil bit and lid to. replace foil bit and lid!
Or get one of those solar powered camping shower and pre fill with vodka! you would have to wash it out first but then you would have a poring nozzle and everything.
At my first festival i discovered if I wore over the knee socks and baggy jeans i could easily walk with 4 cans/vessels of booze stuffed down my socks.
Could you not just fill water bottles with vodka? You must be able to take water in with you – they have taps so you can get water to drink, so you need a receptacle. I went to SGP a couple of years ago, but can’t remember whether we took booze in or not. I do remember them checking bags though, and a pile of contraband booze at the entrance. We didn’t get searched so obviously just looked really innocent. Or perhaps we just looked rich. How about putting vodka in a water bottle and then wrapping it up in your tent or your sleeping bag?
How about hollowing out a few baguettes and inserting vodka-filled balloons in place of the doughy white part, or just fill a football and hope they don’t heft it at the gates.
Fruit juice cartons, emptied out then re-filled with something more fermented. Be careful to open and re-close the carton in such a way that it looks like it’s not been opened. You have to select the type of carton carefully to make sure that’s possible…
