Beat Herder Festival 2010

Submitted by Martin on February 24, 2010 – 8:51 pmOne Comment

When: 2/3/4 July.
Where: Dockber Farm, Gisburn, Lancashire

Billing is shaping up and will be announced 1st March. Amazing reviews from NME and Virtual festivals. and number 2 from the observers top 10 independent british festivals.  A sell out event with class acts and a boutique/medieval aesthetic. One of the best events in the north of england

2010 will be the 5th year of Beat-Herder, although the roots delve back to 10 years previous. Beat-Herder has a cult status and a loyal following of thousands. Offering a full weekends mind-bending entertainment across the board from DJ’s and bands and VJ’s to walkabouts, installations and randomness. A hands on approach ensures that what’s there is unique and the best it can be; from the soundsystem in the woods to even making our own urinals and showers plus sporting one of the finest festival flower displays and grown from seed, mind you!!

This year will have a blistering line up for the music sprouting from the seeds of previous years which have featured Reverend and the Makers, Beardyman, Evil Nine, X-press2, The Whip, Filthy Dukes Banco De Gaia, Dub Pistols, 808 State, Utah Saints, Eat Static and many many more…(line-up announced 1st March)….. But there is more that just the music on offer = “This is the true festival spirit. Being treated as a mate rather than a gullible punter.. Beat-Herder has an ethos not to charge too much for anything. Beat Herder Festival looks like a medieval circus” – virtual festival review 2009

Based on farmland in the beautiful Ribble Valley in Lancashire and overlooked by Pendle Hill, The Beat Herder festival will be home to hundereds of lovely people for the weekend.

It is one of the (according to the Observer) Top 10 British Independent Festivals and Virtual Festivals loved Beat-Herder so much we were given a red hot 9/10.
