Keynsham Music Festival needs local bands

Submitted by Martin on January 28, 2010 – 2:31 pmNo Comment

Bands for local festival

The Keynsham Music Festival is asking all local bands who would like to take part in this year’s festival, to send in their demo cd.

The Keynsham Music Festival has now been going for 11 years and attracts some of the best unsigned bands in the region. It’s a free festival with four stages and an audience of approximately 10,000 people. “We’ve grown from a small event in the park to a massive quality arts and music festival” says Suzy Mizrahi, Festival Co-Ordinator. “We are all about supporting local bands, and being in the middle of Bath and Bristol we are spoilt for choice. We get sent loads of CD’s and the very best are chosen”.

Despite the credit crunch, increased health and safety expenses and new licensing laws, the Keynsham Music Festival has succeeded in remaining free and has continued to grow both in quality and reputation. It’s Keynsham’s biggest event with an ethos to promote local bands, artists, performers and businesses.

This year’s festival is taking place in Keynsham Memorial Park on Sunday 4 July. CD’s should be sent to 15-17 Temple Street, Keynsham BS31 1HF by the end of February. Decisions will be made by the end of March.
