When: 2nd – 5th July 2009
Where: Roskilde, Denmark

The Roskilde Festival in Denmark began in 1971 and is now considered to be the largest North European music and culture festival. Never heard of it? Well, where have you been. The venue has been played by Bob Marley in 1978, Talking Heads in 1979, U2 in 1982, Metallica in 1986, Radiohead in 1997 and Bjork in 2007.

The campsite opens the last Sunday of June, which gives plenty of time to settle in, before the festival officially begins.

Until the mid-1990s the festival attracted mostly Scandinavians, but in recent years it has become more and more international including, Germans, Australians and Brits.

Roskilde Festival ’08 was much more than music. The festival also offered exciting events and activities, cinema, skate and art.

The ticket sale for Roskilde Festival 2009 starts on 1 December 2008.
